Insight Experience clients engage our team to ensure the successful implementation of their strategic initiatives.
In the case of this Fortune 100 client, which operates over 6000 retail stores throughout the United States, Insight created an experience based on a Strategic Impact Simulation targeting their initiative to build sales. This company's sales and marketing efforts were centralized, but their retail store performance had substantial local market variability. Corporate recognized they would satisfy more customers and grow sales by empowering store managers to respond to local market conditions. The client and Insight designed a learning experience that was rolled-out at a national sales conference.
1600 employees participated in a three-hour learning experience, orchestrated by the client's staff. No pre-reading was required. The experience included a paper-based, computer-supported simulation. Participants were divided into small groups where they learned of their fictional company's work challenges. Workbooks, videos, and facilitators set the stage and announced changing market, competitive and business conditions. As participants made decisions to optimize customer satisfaction and sales in their markets, their decisions were submitted and processed for analysis against changing market conditions and other groups' results. Teams received written results and feedback as they moved through decision cycles. Facilitators helped teams and larger groups understand, analyze, and discuss results. The session concluded with a summary presentation of key learning points and strategic messages delivered by client executives.
Once the engagement was complete, Insight Experience presented the client with an assessment of the company's regional strengths and weaknesses as they related to the ongoing execution of this strategic initiative.
Based on the success of this learning event in supporting the company's strategic initiative, a follow-up engagement was rolled out to another 5000 field managers over an eight-week period.
