There are milestones in any manager’s career. One of the most significant is when a mid-level manager begins to look beyond his or her functional responsibilities and become a more strategic leader. Insight’s Leadership Transitions is a multi-phase, blended learning experience designed to help mid-level managers make this critical shift. This program helps them develop the skills, behaviors and mindset they must adopt to be effective in their new roles. The learning experience focuses on three key competencies: Leading Strategically, Leveraging Your Network, and Working Collaboratively.
The Leadership Transitions experience spans several months and incorporates weekly activities and frequent peer interactions. The first phase of the experience introduces participants to course content and concepts, sets expectations, and helps them build initial relationships with each other. Phase 2, the classroom phase of the experience, introduces participants to additional tools and theory, engages them in a dynamic business simulation, and enables them to practice critical interactions with real-time feedback. Phase 3 provides an opportunity for participants to apply their new skills and tools to a real issue from their business. The program concludes with a session for participants to report on the results of the application phase and share insights about putting the ideas into practice.
