Business simulations are an integral part of Insight’s experiential learning programs, accelerating personal and organizational growth for our clients. Our distinctive business simulations bring business challenges to life and allow participants to gain years of experience in a simulated environment over the course of a day.
Insight can develop a business simulation experience specifically modeled on your business and industry. Or, we can work from a portfolio of our existing simulation products to tailor a solution to your needs. We also custom design scenario-based experiences to raise awareness of your critical business issues and to promote participant insight, discussion and learning. How do we do all this? Five key factors allow Insight Experience to offer a complete business simulation that resonates with each of our client's unique needs. Our 15+ years of simulation design experience ensures the orchestration of these factors into a solution that provides impact, energy and results.
- Simulation Components — can be modified to meet a client's specific challenge.
- Simulation Formats — adapt to our clients' unique work environments.
- Simulation Platforms — flexibly handle a variety of client technology requirements.
- Simulation Models — provide cost-effective off-the-shelf business simulation solutions.
- Simulation Elements — give customizable scenario, exercise, and role play elements.
1. Simulation Components
To ensure a robust learning experience, Insight Experience simulations incorporate the design and integration of five important components:

Each of the following simulation components is tailored and integrated to meet a client’s specific needs and situation.
- Core Business Decisions — Select the right business environment to simulate. Identify the core, ongoing decisions employees make in their work, and the relevant tensions that prevent them from making better decisions.
- Scenarios and Issues — Target key organizational issues that are unique to the client environment and impact participants' day-to-day work. Capture the impact of participants' responses to these issues — the impact both on people and business results.
- Exercises and Role Plays — It is one thing to know the right answer, but another to implement it. Live presentations, negotiations and conversations force participants to translate concepts into action and highlight the central importance of interpersonal leadership behaviors in strategy execution.
- Behavioral Observations and Feedback — The simulation provides a rich and realistic environment where participants receive immediate, relevant and personalized feedback on their real leadership behaviors from facilitators, coaches and peers.
- Debrief Discussions and Interpretation — Real learning requires both action and reflection. Simulation facilitators interpret results and lead debriefing discussions on the insights gained and lessons learned throughout the simulation experience. The discussions reinforce key program learning objectives and messages.
2. Simulation Formats
Insight Experience offers several types of simulation formats. These formats provide flexible experiential education solutions for our clients. Each format varies in the duration, cost and technical complexity required to design and develop a client solution.

- "Living" Case Studies — A 5 -10 page detailed write-up about an issue facing your business. The issue will be genericized, but will pose critical decisions for participant input. The case is supported by a computer model, which generates projected results of the decisions made, for further discussion.
- Computer-Supported Simulation —
A case study expanded to evolve through multiple stages of events and participant decision-making. The computer model generates not only business results but also the next iteration of information for participant discussion. Each participant group will see unique outcomes and information based on the choices they make.
- Computer-Based Simulation —
A versatile team-based simulation format for classroom/meeting or online use. The computer model supplies information throughout the decision-making process and provides unique outcomes and information depending on the choices teams make.
- Online Module —
An on-line simulation format for shared learning experiences across geographical locations. Individuals in various locations receive unique information, but have to come to a shared decision. On-line modules can help address the issues of working virtually as well as address the core content.
3. Simulation Platform
Insight Experience’s simulation platform was designed with maximum flexibility and ease of customization in mind. The platform can be configured for deployment based on individual client technology, infrastructure, and logistics requirements. It allows us to minimize design constraints and provide powerful experience across a range of technology and learning environments.

4. Simulation Models
Insight has developed a family of core simulations focused on critical management and leadership challenges. These form a base from which we can create tailored and cost-effective solutions to meet our clients' needs.
When appropriate, we design and develop custom simulations to model a client’s specific industry, business, processes or organizational structure. This is frequently the case when we are helping management implement a strategic initiative or specific organizational change effort.

5. Simulation Elements
Insight Experience can draw from an extensive library of existing simulation elements to design a learning experience that achieves individual client business objectives:
